Party Nuts, makes four cups (perfect for two medium-sized mason jars if you are gifting…) Needed: 2 cups almonds, 2 cups whole pecans (you can use any combination of nuts that you prefer), 3/4 cup dark brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, a pinch of salt and 4-5 tablespoon melted butter. First toast your nuts in a dry sauce pan over medium heat, 3-5 minutes. Be careful not to burn them, but don’t skip this step. It really does bring out the flavor, plus it makes your kitchen smell like chestnuts roasting on an open fire. If you know what I mean. Once nuts are toasted and fragrant set aside in a bowl. In a separate bowl combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Pour the melted butter over the toasted nuts.
